Spinda

Hi guys!  Sorry I've been gone for a bit(once a again), but I back with a new pattern!  So, lets get to it!

Spinda
MATERIALS:

WW yarn in cream and orange-pink (I used Red Heart Super Saver in Aran and Coral)
G Hook
Fiberfill
Felt in black
Sewing needle and thread
Fabric Glue (optional)



BODY: Start with orange-pink
Rnd 1: 8 sc in magic ring (8)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around (16)
Rnd 3: *sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc* repeat * to * around (24)
Rnd 4: *sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc* repeat * to * around (32)
Rnd 5: *sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc* repeat * to * around (40)
Rnd 6: *sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc* repeat * to * around (48)
Rnd 7-12: sc in each sc around (48) Change to white/cream at end of rnd 12
Rnd 13: sc in 1st 4 sc, switch back to orange, sc in next 16, change back to cream, sc in next 8, change back to orange, sc in next 16, change back to cream, sc in last 4 sc (48)
Rnd 14: sc in 1st 5 sc, switch back to orange, sc in next 14, change back to cream, sc in next 10, change back to orange, sc in next 14, change back to cream, sc in last 5 sc (48)
Rnd 15: sc in 1st 6 sc, switch back to orange, sc in next 12, change back to cream, sc in next 12, change back to orange, sc in next 12, change back to cream, sc in last 6 sc (48)
Rnd 16: sc in 1st 7 sc, switch back to orange, sc in next 10, change back to cream, sc in next 14, change back to orange, sc in next 10, change back to cream, sc in last 7 sc (48)

If you haven't started stuffing yet, do so now. Stuff firmly and shape body as you progress. Continue to stuff firmly and shape as you go along.
Rnd 23: * sc in next 3 sc, dec over next 2 sc * repeat * to * around (32)
Rnd 24: sc in each sc around (32)
Rnd 25: * sc in next 2 sc, dec over next 2 sc * repeat * to * around (24)
Rnd 26: sc in each sc around (24)
F/O and finish stuffing (slightly overstuff neck opening to prevent sagging later) Weave in ends (neck opening is not closed)





HEAD: with cream
Rnd 1: 8 sc in magic ring (8)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around (16)
Rnd 3: *sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc* repeat * to * around (24)
Rnd 4: *sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc* repeat * to * around (32)
Rnd 5: *sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc* repeat * to * around (40)
Rnd 6: *sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc* repeat * to * around (48)
Rnd 7: * sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc * repeat * to * around (56)
Rnd 8-18: sc in each sc around (56)
Rnd 19: * sc in next 5 sc, dec over next 2 sc * repeat * to * around (48)
If you haven't started stuffing yet, do so now. Stuff firmly and shape the head as you progress. Continue to stuff firmly and shape as you go along.
Rnd 20: * sc in next 4 sc, dec over next 2 sc * repeat * to * around (40)
Rnd 21: * sc in next 3 sc, dec over next 2 sc * repeat * to * around (32)
Rnd 22: * sc in next 2 sc, dec over next 2 sc * repeat * to * around (24)

F/O and add any stuffing needed to firmly shape the head. Pin neck opening of head to the slightly overstuffed neck opening of the body.




Back of Head Spot: with orange
Rnd 1-3: repeat rnds 1-3 of head.  F/O, sew to back of head.






Ears: with cream
Rnd 1: 9 sc in magic ring (9)
Rnd 2: inc around (18)
Rnd 3: *sc 2, inc* repeat around (24)
Rnd 4-6: sc even (24)
Rnd 7: sc in next 4sc, dec, repeat around (20)
Rnd 8-9: sc even (20)
Rnd 10: sc in next 3sc, dec, repeat around (16)
Rnd 11-12: sc even (16)
Rnd 13: sc in next 2sc, dec, repeat around (12)
Rnd 14-15: sc even (12)
F/O, stuff lightly.





FEET/LEGS: start with orange
Rnd 1: 9 sc in magic ring (9) Change to cream in last sc(I forgot to do this, but this is to give you Spinda his/her little paw pads)
Rnd 2: sc even (9)
Rnd 3: sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc (repeat twice more).(12)
Rnd 4: sc in each sc around (12)
Rnd 5: sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc (repeat twice more) (15)
Rnd 6: sc in each sc around (15)
Rnd 7: sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc (repeat twice more) (18)
Rnd 8: sc in each sc around (18)
Begin 'hip' structure (working now in rows)
Row 1: sc in each of next 9 sc (leave remaining sc unworked). Chain 1 and turn (9)
Row 2: dec over first two sc, sc across to final two sc, dec over last two sc. Chain 1 and turn (7)
F/O. Stuff firmly while shaping. Weave in ends.





ARMS: with orange
Rnd 1: 9 sc in magic ring (9)
Rnd 2: sc even (9)
Rnd 3: sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc (repeat twice more) (12)
Rnd 4-12: Sc in each sc around (12)
Rnd 13: HDC in each of next 6 sc. Leave all remaining sc unworked. (6)
F/O. Stuff lightly. (arms shouldn't be stuffed too firmly or they won't position properly). Weave in ends.





Tail: with cream
Rnd 1: 9 sc in magic ring (9)
Rnd 2: sc in next 2sc, 2sc in next sc (repeat twice more) (12)
Rnd 3: sc next, 2 sc next, around (18)
Rnd 4: sc even (18)
Rnd 5: sc next 5, 2 sc next, around (21)
Rnd 6: sc even (21)
Rnd 7: sc next 5, dec over next 2, around (18)
Rnd 8: sc next 4, dec over next 2, around (15)
Rnd 9: sc next 3, dec over next, around (12)

Assembly:
Using the pics as a guide point, pin everything in place, then sew together.  As for the face and ear spots, go nuts!  Every Spinda has different face a ear spots, so have fun!  Have an in game Spinda you love the spots of?  Transfer that to your Spinda!  Saw one in the show you liked?  Transfer that to your Spinda!
After you've got your Spinda's face and ear spots sorted, you can either embroider the swirly bits, nose, and mouth, or do like I did and just paint them on with black fabric paint.
Now go have a dizzy good time with your Spinda!
